We did counting collections this week and used lots of spaces and containers to count a myriad of things: seashells, buttons, bread ties, bottle caps, etc.Īs we have explored addition and subtraction equations with unknown numbers we have used numerous materials including Cuisenairre rods, unifex cubes and number charts to help us visualize and represent problems. This one was on a par with most of them, except in this case, we knew the ending before we even began, with the prologue giving away the denouement of the plot.
